Who We Are - What We Offer I learned my first lesson about New York residential real estate the hard way—by buying my apartment in the teeth of a seller’s market. That was in 1986. And while the process was grueling—my husband and I looked at over 70 apartments before making our decision—I also found it fascinating. Shortly thereafter, I left my career in the antiquarian print and rare book business, acquired my real estate license and went to work for a mid-size real estate broker. In 1991, I formed The McIntosh Company. The McIntosh Company is driven by a single, simple goal: to provide a level of personal, focused attention to buyers and sellers that only a small firm can while offering the same access and marketing capabilities available from large firms. We have access to an extensive state-of-the-art computerized database that is updated constantly and belong to the Real Estate Board of New York's multiple listing service which includes over 300 other residential brokerage firms. We have access to data on thousands of apartment and townhouse listings, including building information and sales history. We keep current with what’s new on the market and share our exclusive listings with hundreds of other real estate brokers in Manhattan. McIntosh Company agents enjoy cordial collegial relations with brokerage companies throughout the real estate community. We have built an invaluable reputation for integrity, expertise and care in dealing with buyers, sellers and fellow brokers. We are all Manhattan residents and confirmed New Yorkers who know and love the City with a real insider’s knowledge. And we take active roles in our community. Like everyone, I want my work to be both fun and challenging. And, whether the market is sizzling or struggling, I derive great pleasure—and plenty of challenges—working with buyers and sellers. Putting together the right customer with the right apartment is genuinely rewarding. There is no better deal, be it large or small, than the one that brings buyer and seller to the closing with smiles on their faces. I look forward to helping
you get to that point. Sharon McIntosh
